Shopping, but make it sustainable

‘Tis the season for shopping—and we get it, it’s part of the fun of the holidays (and certainly one that we look forward to as well as a retail store). But we also know that, as consumers, all the shopping we do can take a toll on the planet. From the water used to make a single pair of shoes (8000 liters!) to the tons of fabric waste that end up in the landfills (92 million tons!) shopping habits can add up. The good news is we can still enjoy the holidays and shop a little kinder by choosing local makers, handmade pieces, and zero-waste finds. When we celebrate the holidays with a bit more thought, we show that shopping can be just as merry.
